Guitar, accordion, zither and harp
Introduction
In the Department of Accordion, Zither, Guitar and Harp, instrumentalists and music school teachers are trained. The ability to play both solo and in ensemble is essential. These skills are developed in speciality, orchestral, specialised ensemble and chamber ensemble classes.
There is a wide range of elective courses that broaden learning opportunities. Students can take part in national and international competitions and enhance their skills in masterclasses. Graduates can continue their studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre or other higher music schools worldwide. Studies conclude with a vocational examination. The final examinations in harmony and solfeggio serve as entrance examinations for the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Graduates receive the fourth qualification level instrumentalist profession.
Students of the guitar, accordion, harp or zither speciality must complete the instrumentalist curriculum.
