Pop-Jazz
Introduction
The Department of Pop-Jazz Music was first opened in 2006. Pop-jazz music is a field in music education that combines different styles of music, such as rock, blues, funk and jazz, which are not covered in academic music education. Studies in the Department of Pop-Jazz Music thus focus on ensemble playing and are supported by both speciality courses and music theory subjects.
In the Department of Pop-Jazz Music, students have the opportunity to specialise in instruments (piano, percussion instruments, bass guitar, guitar and wind instruments) or singing. Our teachers are recognised as active musicians and experts in their field. Collaboration, creativity and improvisation are the main keywords of the department. We welcome open-minded and creative young people with a musical background who wish to link their future with music. Our objective is to train musicians who are technically skilled, stylistically aware and competitive.
Studies conclude with a vocational and ensemble examination. Graduates of the Department of Pop-Jazz Music receive the fourth qualification level musician profession, which allows them to work as a musician or continue studies at a higher music school. We offer modern learning opportunities in a continuously evolving learning environment.
Students of the pop-jazz music speciality must complete the pop-jazz musician curriculum.
